Lead Wholeness Advocate

As the Lead Wholeness Advocate, my aim is to create a balanced, meaningful approach to wholeness that honors each person’s unique, individual journey.

Dear Friends,

For 20 years, I worked in nonprofit communications and marketing. My curiosity and passion for people has led me through positions with membership associations including the American Academy of Neurology, World Sleep Society and several patient organizations.

In the adjacent lane to my career success, I have remained a learner. Through my over 100 published magazine and online articles, I continue to enjoy the human side of writing. I love interviewing people about their story, motivations, successes and failures. I’ve had the honor of highlighting several business owners, artists and crafters through magazine articles as a contract writer and columnist. I thrive when I’m able to accurately reflect an individual’s personal mission statement. In fact, I am the author of a nonfiction book that is a collection of diverse personal interviews because I believe too often all sides of a conversation are not heard together. Prior to that, I authored one fiction novel.

My favorite position to date was when I realized a membership organization was connected to thousands of researchers and PhDs as members who had no way to share their research with patients. I created, launched and acted as Editor and Lead Writer of Healthier Sleep magazine. Starting by curating my own list of recent advancements and interesting journal articles, I contacted physicians, neurologists, researchers and other professionals to interview and write about their findings. I also began networking and prospecting for advertisers while folding magazine ads into our regular sponsor and exhibitor prospectus. I plan to do the same with the Wholeness Advocate magazine.

When I walked into a previous membership organization, there was no marketing. Beginning with square one, I independently created segmented lists, added online forms and SEO to existing websites and gardened for new social media and mailing list prospects. I have a history of bringing in large sponsors, doubling event profits and growing social media campaigns to new heights. (#WorldSleepDay is a hashtag I started that rose to the #1 trending topic on Twitter under my direction.) While handling corporate sponsorships, I assisted in creating a 44% increase in the number of supporters. I created ad copy and email content that increased event attendance 33.8%, increased our mass email statistics to receive a Constant Contact award for “leading the industry” in both 2017 and 2018, as well as nearly doubled our social media following. I also increased our mailing list 191%. All this is to say, I feel called and ready to build a new membership community.

I am excited to dig in and lead in the areas of membership, community and spreading the word about this amazing membership association!
